New Gems and Earrings!

July 12, 2007

Hello everyone,

We have finally updated the website with new gems and
earrings. I know that many of you were patiently
waiting for more options since we closed the retail
store earlier this year. There are nearly 100 gems of
all different sizes and a couple of different styles.
There are also over 2 dozen new earrings available in
four different styles. So please check it out and
enjoy! All of our internet pricing includes free
shipping as well!

As a side note, I will be processing orders
immediately through this Sunday so they will all ship
out by Monday. Orders placed Monday July 16th through
Friday July 20th may be delayed until the following
week. We are heading to the hospital on Monday to
welcome our first child and will be a bit busy for the
first few days. Once we get back home I will start
processing orders right away and the following week we
will be back to immediate processing and shipment.

Thanks everyone for your continued support. I hope you
find something you like and as always if you need
something that you can't find shoot me an email and I
will look through my stock that is not online for you.
Have a great day!

Closing the Retail Gallery

March 9, 2007

Hello Everyone -

I wanted to let everyone out in cyberspace know that we are closing the retail gallery located at the Barnyard in Carmel. We will be closed by March 31st. We will no longer be carrying other artists work though we will always be watching their wonderful glass careers flourish. As far as retail store locations go we will be done for a while. We will also be preparing for the birth of our first child due in July and I am looking forward to staying home and raising him while continuing to make glass from my home studio.

Our online site will be our primary retail outlet after we close the gallery. We will also continue to offer our products to other wholesalers and at home shows. We will be updating the website to carry more of the merchandise that we carried in the shop within the next few months so check back soon for a lot more variety.

We have brought back our classic sale on jewelry items in the shop for the last couple of weeks. You can stop by and buy 2 pieces of jewelry and get a 3rd piece for free. So feel free to stop by and stock up!

If you are interested in hosting a home show please email us to let us know. We will come to your home and set up a nice variety of jewelry, gift items and home decor to sell to your friends, family and co-workers who have been raving about one of your necklaces. The host receives 20% of the proceeds back in glass merchandise! They are great fun and we also provide you with a two-sided color mailer to invite everyone to the party.

Talk to ya soon,

Anea

Classes, Kilns and Artists ... Oh My!!

September 22, 2006

Hello everyone,

Thought I would drop a note to thank everyone for the great name submissions for the Kiln Naming Contest. The winner will be announced later today! So get ready! I love the kiln and the name just goes so well ... again thanks to all who submitted you made it so fun! Enjoy the photos of us trying to get her off the truck and a sneak peak at the prizes later today.

We also added information about our beginning fused glass classes. There are three to choose from with one-on-one instruction and an invaluable set of notes to take home. The notes tell you everything I wish someone had told me when I first started. So check out that page and download the brochure. These classes are a great gift for the glass enthusiast in you family.

Also, we have added another glass artist to the site and shop. Cynthia Oliver is a fused glass artist working out of Utah and we are pleased to have her beautiful work in our shop.

Stay tuned for new work from the big kiln!! It is going to be an adventure!

Cheers!

New Gems and Earrings in stock!

July 18, 2006

Hi all -

Just wanted to drop a quick note and let everyone know that we have over 400 new gems in stock right now! I spent the better part of the last couple weeks getting them ready. I also have about 200 more to finish in the coming week or so.

Those new earring findings we got in San Francisco have been doing great! Out of the first batch of 10 there are only 3 pairs left. I finished up a new batch of 10 more today so come on in and get a pair or two.

We also are restocked on some smaller rings that we had last year. These sterling silver rings with a small gem on top are only $25 and a few of them have earrings that match (though they are not sold as matching sets).

By the way those keychains turned out great and are also moving quickly!

Lastly, I received an email inquiry about the date the winner of the kiln naming contest will be announced ... so we updated that page with a more concrete timeline. The winner will be announced in September after the kiln arrives and I have made the award choices. More than likely by the middle or end of September. So keep those awesome name choices coming ... I swear I change my mind nearly everyday on which one I like the most!

Keep smiling,

Anea

New Artist and New Work!

June 29, 2006

Hello all,

This has been a busy month! The kiln naming contest is up and running ... and the submissions are amazing. Trying to pick one is going to be a challenge. Here is a hint though (I am loving Mabak, My Awesome Bad Ass Kiln) ... it says so much and we already know that I love initials. Keep those great submissions coming!

We have recently visited the Jewelry Mart in San Francisco and picked up some amazing new findings. We will have a new selection of earrings within a week. New sterling silver and glass keychains are being quality tested and should be available in a week if there are no problems. Finally, a new batch of bracelets will be available shortly. Also don't forget that there will be a new batch of gems available to coincide with the price increase on July 17th.

Lastly, we are pleased to announce a new artist in the gallery. Tara Devlin does amazing photography work and we have collaborated for a series of close up (macro) shots of my glass artwork. These beautiful abstract shots can be viewed at the gallery and are available to purchase framed, as notecards, or as matted prints.

Be sure to stop by the shop and check out our new artist and the new work that will be here soon!

Until next time,

Anea

New Kiln and New Prices

June 2, 2006

Hello everyone,

It has been a while since I checked in and a lot has been going on here at Anea's Creative Design. We are settled into our new location in Carmel at the Barnyard and as summer is nearly here all is looking well. So well in fact, that I am upgrading to a larger kiln. The new kiln will be here in about three months and it will be large enough to do architectural work, table tops and much more. I plan to also produce a new line of glass table runners in this kiln. Preliminary designs have been made already and have been well received by those who have seen them. I am very excited! We will also be announcing a contest soon for anyone who is interested in NAMING my new kiln ... cause with a kiln that big it's got to have a name! I have just been calling it Big Boy which clearly won't do for the long term. So keep an eye out for the official announcement and start thinking about what I should name my new kiln!

Also, we will be increasing the price of our jewelry and coasters in about a month or so. So come on in and enjoy the great low prices we are still offering. Do not fear the increase will be mild, somewhere around $5 more per set of coasters and about $3- $5 more per fused glass gem. Increases are necessary due to the rise in demand for the coasters and the amount of labor involved in making them so frequently. The rise in gem prices is because the cost of silver has risen exponentially over the past few months and I have to pass some of that on. Everyone on our mailing list will be given an official heads up about the price increase and a coupon to use for one more purchase at the old prices.

Looking forward to the next update which will officially announce the kiln naming contest. I am still working on the prize. Am thinking it will be a choice from 5 new bowls made in the first firing of the kiln.

Until then enjoy the sun,

Anea

Anea

Thanks for a great ribbon Cutting!!

December 6, 2005

I just wanted to thank everyone who came out for our ribbon cutting last night. It was a huge success with well over 40 people in attendance. The food was great, the wine was flowing and everyone loved their take home signed wine glasses.

The Carmel Chamber of Commerce really turned out and it was wonderful to meet so many other people from the new neighborhood. Also, thanks to my parents, husband and friends who helped out pouring wine, making food, taking photos, setting up and cleaning up...we couldn't have had such a great event without all of you.

Special thanks to all the other glass artists who came out last night. Kathy Barret, Kathy Stroup and Christopher Platt our new glass blower and torch-workers. Also please send good thoughts out to our great glass fuser Rob Morey who could not make it and is fighting another battle with cancer. Keep positive!!
Thanks again,

Aimee N. Edwards-Altadonna

New Artists!

December 4, 2005

We've included a number of new glass artists, working with different techniques, in our new gallery. Make sure you check out the "Artists" page for more detailed information about each artist.

First up is Rob Morey, a talented glass fuser from San Diego, who creates stunning fused glass sculptures.

Next, we are proud to introduce, Kathy Barret who creates amazing hand-blown glass inspired by her love for the sea. Not only are her pieces beautiful to look at but many of them are functional as well.

We are also representing Kathy Stroup, from Monterey. Kathy is a local lamp worker who makes custom glass beads and then creates beautiful necklaces from them.

Finally, we have Christopher Platt, a torch-worker working with hard glass, who makes stunning centerpieces for necklaces that are truly amazing.

We are incredibly excited to have work by all of these talented individuals in our gallery. Please come by and see just how wonderful they are, for yourself!
